The Manteo Wrestling team kicked off the season with a match against First Flight High School and Currituck County High School. This was the only home match of the season. Although it lost to both teams, it hopes to improve throughout the season. As a team, it is pushing each other the best they can be when they are in practice.

“Wrestling is important to me because of its intensity, focus, discipline, goal settings, perseverance and determination,” senior Ricardo Alegria-Gabriel said. “I believe intense work ethic is essential to be successful in life. So much enthusiasm and passion is involved into the sport on and off the mat. It’s not a very popular sport but sure is a fun one when taught.”.
