Spring sport update: baseball
April 8, 2016
The varsity baseball team has had a strong start to its season. As of press time, the varsity team has won five of the seven games played.
Under the guidance of coaches Alfie Wheeler and Jimmy Metzinger, the returning team members have welcomed three new players: juniors Chris Day and Will Cruden and senior John Day.
“I’m really excited about this season because we have a lot of people back from last year. Everyone has gotten bigger and stronger and we’re looking to win the conference this year,” junior Josh Tolson said.
The JV team has played five games so far this season, and it has one win under its belt.
This year’s JV team is coached by MHS graduate Hunter Meekins, who is assisted by MHS graduate Nick Brown and long-time assistant Ronnie Meekins
