During the March 16 offshore oil drilling meeting, members of SEAC presented their concerns about the proposed idea.

Six hundred and seventy people showed up to the meeting, most of whom opposed drilling off the coast of North Carolina. Juniors Aidan Charron and Maddie Kinnisten had the opportunity to share their view on the issue at hand during the meeting.

“They did an outstanding job of presenting their deep concerns about off shore drilling,” SEAC sponsor Anna Thomas said. “The room of supporters was wholeheartedly behind them!  Mrs. [Lea] Dixon and I are so proud of them, and so many community members congratulated them on their speeches.”
